World’s first electric hydrofoil jet-ski
The University of Western Australia teamed up with Electro.Aero to develop the world’s first electric jet hydrofoil WaveFlyer.
While stationary, the boat is similar to a conventional jet ski, but lifts up during movement thanks to an actively stabilized hydrofoil propulsion system. The jet ski is much quieter, more energy efficient and does not pollute the environment, unlike gasoline counterparts.
The WaveFlyer is powered by a 2 kWh lithium-ion battery that is charged for over 30 minutes of continuous operation with two passengers on board. Riding it is more like flying over water than sailing on a regular jet ski..
Co-founder of Electro.Aero says the developed technology is not only environmentally friendly, but also improves the safety of movement, as well as the efficiency of personal water transport..
